For years, your iPhone has given you a preset list of several tones from which you can choose to wake up to. If you have ever perused this list, you might have come to the conclusion that you would rather wake up to the sound of “Reveille” playing in your ears than some of the other tones your iPhone has provided in the past.
Now, though, it is looking like you are going to have some more choices when it comes to choosing the song that wakes you up in the morning as long as you have upgraded to iOS 6.
iOS 6 allows you to choose from any of the songs in your iTunes library to wake up to in the mornings. This means that your morning can be at least a little more pleasant.
So, here’s how you choose an iTunes song for your iOS 6 alarm:
Step 1: Open the “Click” app and choose “Alarm.”
Step 2: Add a new alarm from this screen or press an existing alarm to select it.
Step 3: Select “Sound.” When you push “Sound” you will find that there is now a “Songs” section that was not there with previous iOS iterations.
Step 4: Choose “Pick a Song” and scroll through the list of songs that appears. These are all of the songs located in your iTunes library.
Step 5: Press the song to which you want to wake up.
Now you are done. Instead of waking up to a miserable tone every day, you now can chose to wake up to one of your favorite songs. Perhaps this small functionality doesn’t make up for the issues surrounding Apple Maps, but at least it is a step in the right direction.
